Heidi Wrage has been creating pictures since 1989, when she first picked up a 35mm camera.

She began taking classes at The Photographic Center in Dallas, TX specifically to go on a photo trip to Big Bend National Park. It was then that she fell in love with the medium and the kinship she felt with other photographers. It was like coming home. She continued to study individually with her mentor and fine art photographer, Chris Regas. Since then, Heidi’s work has been in numerous juried and invitational shows throughout Texas, Arizona, California and New York. She has had five solo exhibits, three of them in Los Angeles.

Heidi’s photographs were featured in LIFE magazine in an article entitled “Searching for the Soul,” along with other notable photographers Arthur Tress and Adam Fuss (1999).  A ten photo essay of her work was presented in SEASONS magazine which was published by Guest Informant (1998). Heidi’s painted photographs were used as illustrations for an abnormal psychology textbook by Harcourt, Brace & Javonovich in 1992.  An ongoing project of Ms. Wrage is to document the disappearing signs from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, which she hopes to publish as a book someday.

Ms. Wrage’s photographs can be seen at The Afterimage Gallery in Dallas, TX (the oldest photography gallery in the country) and through Art Source L.A, a fine art consultancy in Santa Monica. She has also been featured in solo & group exhibits at Hello Artichoke Gallery and Cruz Gallery in Los Angeles.

In general, Heidi’s work concentrates on the spiritual and the abstract found in everyday life. Her recent work i based on the natural world using selective focus, movement, blur, and night photography. Ms Wrage currently lives in Los Angeles, CA with her many critters.
